Tuition & Make-Up Policy
Tuition Reserves Your Place in Class
Tuition reserves a student’s workspace for the same scheduled class each week for consecutive weeks. Because class sizes are limited, that space is held specifically for that student whether or not they attend.
Tuition is non-refundable and cannot be transferred or credited toward future sessions because of missed classes.
When You Need to Miss a Class
We understand that students occasionally need to miss class. When possible, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance. A minimum of 12 hours’ notice is required, except in unexpected situations such as illness, emergencies, or severe weather.
Advance notice is important because it allows us to make your unused workspace available to another student who may need a makeup class.
Please report an absence through the Will Miss a Class form in Student Resources rather than calling, emailing, or mentioning the absence during class.
Makeup Classes for Necessary Conflicts
There is no charge for a makeup class when you have a reasonable reason for missing your regular class.
Examples include:
- Illness or a medical appointment
- School tests, required school activities, or educational commitments
- Work obligations or required meetings
- Important family commitments, such as weddings or funerals
- Other reasonable circumstances that prevent you from attending your regular class
We don’t expect every situation to fit neatly into a category. The purpose of this policy is simply to provide flexibility when students genuinely need it.
Recreational or Optional Conflicts
Students may also choose to reschedule a class for a recreational or optional activity—for example, attending a party, going to a movie, attending a sporting event, or choosing another activity instead of their regularly scheduled class.
In these situations, we are still happy to provide a makeup class when space is available. There is a $6 non-refundable rescheduling fee.
Makeup Class Limits
Students may schedule one makeup class per 4-week session, with a maximum of seven makeup classes per year.
Only one outstanding makeup may be held at a time. A missed class must be made up before another makeup class can be scheduled.
If you schedule a makeup class and do not attend it, that makeup is forfeited.
Makeup Classes Do Not Extend Tuition
Missed classes are not credited toward future sessions and do not extend the student’s current tuition period.
As long as you remain actively enrolled and your tuition is current, an eligible missed class may be made up later, subject to available space and the limits above.
