  • Art materials are provided, including newsprint, multi media, bristol pastel papers, water color, tempera paint, pastel, oil pastel, graphite, colored pencils, charcoal.
  • We have 13 iPads for research, digital art (with ProCreate and Sketch Club) and animation apps.
  • About half of the time in class, students work on their own creative projects.
  • We emphasize creativity, through an understanding of fundamentals skills.  Every week students are introduced to a new fundamental skill, technique, theory or principle including measuring techniques, direct light, linear perspective, cartooning and more to help them learn to draw and paint.  We teach perceptive skills )to draw what we see), and cartooning skills (to draw from memory and/or imagination).  We draw cubes and cylinders often for our future architects and engineers.  The demonstration is videotaped and made available for review to all students at our website.
  • Many of our high school students get credit for attending our school.  See "Credit Flexibility" at the Ohio School Board.
  • We visit students at their easel during the exercises and creative time in class.  I visit personally, and I have assistants that visit.
  • Our intention is to keep art fun for all of our students and introduce them to fundamental skills.  Ultimately, our skills will enhance their creative experience.
